S/Y Bird of Passage
The birth of a strip plank ocean cruiser.
In the end of 1997 we
decided to build a new boat. After a few years of preparations the
actual construction work started year 2000. Bird of Passage should be a
true long range cruiser with twin motors, full flotation and
retractable keel. She will sail around the world as easy as she will
cruise the Baltic sea or the canals of Europe and America. She will
be big enough to live and work in for several years for a family of
four. American designer Tom
MacNaughton has designed the hull and rig while deck and interior
is our own design. Her call sign will be SLWP. She was launched 2009
and sailed for the first time 2010 and is now on her way south on a journey
that will last for many years, check below for details....
